8:00 pm - This is the hilarious story of a theatre group trying desperately to put on a play in spite of maddening interference from a haughty author who keeps revising the script. Act I is a rehearsal of the dreadful show, Act II is the near disastrous dress rehearsal, and the final act is the actual performance, in which anything that can go wrong, does. When the author decides to give a speech on the state of the modern theatre during the curtain calls, the audience is treated to a madcap climax and a thoroughly hilarious romp. Making Scents: The Art and Passion of Fragrance - Kingwood Center Gardens, Mansfield
10:00 am - 5:00 pm - Blending flora, fashion and fragrance, this interactive exhibit offers a unique, innovative experience where you can discover the plants and flowers behind some the world’s most iconic perfumes. Showcasing some of Mother Nature’s most aromatic botanicals, Making Scents explores the artistry, history and science of fragrance utilizing STEAM teaching methods and offers hands-on demonstrations and engaging interpretation. By integrating horticulture, history and pop culture, Making Scents is sure to enlighten the senses and engage the minds of visitors about fragrance and the living world in a fun, dynamic way. The Mansfield Gun Show is held at the Richland County Fairgrounds, 750 N. Home Rd. Mansfield OH 44906, in Fairhaven Hall. An ATM is on-site. The City of Mansfield is near I-71, roughly half-way between Cleveland and Columbus, in the north-central portion of Ohio. The show is just off of US 30, west of Mansfield, approximately ten minutes off of I-71. From the north or south, take I-71 to US 30 west. From the east or west, take US 30 to Mansfield. From US 30, exit at Trimble Rd. Go north on Trimble to the first light. Turn left at this light, onto Longview. After about a mile, Longview will dead-end into Home Rd. Turn right onto Home. The entrance to the fairgrounds is about 1/4 mile on the right. As you enter the fairgrounds, turn left to go around the office building. The scene is the set where Anthony J. Lefcourt, writer and director, is rehearsing his new play, a “classic whodunit” (in which all the characters are named Butler) with which he hopes to regain the success that has eluded him in recent seasons. Desperately eager to stimulate his cast to their best efforts, he has deliberately withheld the final scene of the play from them, but his patience is worn thin by the petty jealousies and romantic rivalries that detract from their concentration. In an effort to spur them on he “stages” the murder of one of the actresses, after which the plot begins to twist and turn with such dazzling ingenuity—and hilarity—that soon actors and audience alike have lost track of what is real and what is make-believe!
